AFL training

Group B did skills from Coach Mike.

The first skill we did was shown how to do handball (hit the ball). We had to put your domnitant hand into a fist and the other hand into a dinner plate. We had to hit the ball at the X from the dinner plate. We hit the ball to our partners.

The second skill was how to do a drop pot (kick). We had to face the lace from your face and the two X's to face the sky and the ground then we have to make a M on the ball. We kicked the ball to our partners.

Next we used the handball skill to play octopus. We had fun playing octopus but it was tiring.

Then we played kick the ball at our teachers and the coach. We missed the teachers and the coach but I decided to join the teachers and the coach. Group B tried their best to hit us but they only got Mr Ogilive two times.

I had fun playing AFL (Australian Football League) I want to play this again, I really need to practice handball and drop pot.

Touch Rugby | Two and Three man settle

We carried on two and three man settle from last week.

First we practised two and three man settles to get ready for a game of touch. Couch Mark told us to aim for one person when we drive the ball down the field.

Next we played a game of touch. The game was for learning how to play and how to use a two and three man settle

I was really good at two man settles but, I wasn't good at three man settles. I need to practise more three man settles next week.

Kiwi Sports | Touch Rugby

This week for touch rugby we learned more basic skills.

The first skills we did was planting the ball and initiating the touch.  To plant the ball is when I get touched. Then I place the ball on the ground and move forward. Initiating is when I have to touch the person before they touch me so they know.

Then we did activity where we had to see how much balls we can get. The teams were bibs vs non bibs. The people that has a ball needed to run and the people that doesn't have a ball they have to tag a person that has one.

After that we did another activity where two attackers verses one defender. I had to get the person thats defending to be committed to me. How to get them committed is when they move their shoulder, so I to pass it to my teammate to get the try.

I really like touch rugby and want to do it again next week.
