 We learned the average with the data sheet from athletics day.

Mean or average is adding up numbers and multiplying by how many numbers there are. The teams were red, green, yellow and blue. If a team is in first place they get 4 points, second 3 points, third 2 points and last 1 point.

We had to find the average from 182, 186, 174 and 182. We know that 182 is 20.2 so that means that 186 is 20.6. We did two averages, so 174 divided by 9= 19.333333333 but we need to take away the seven 3’s. 19.33 has two 3’s and the 3 at the end goes down and the number is now 19.3.

The averages of 182, 186, 174 and 182 is 20.2, 20.2, 20.6 and 19.3.
