KiwiCan

When we were at KiwiCan we had to do our engerzier and It was called hammer and also we learnt about being a role model. We were talking of taking care of our parents and helping them in their everyday life.

First we played hammer so it was like this. You hands have to be in the front middle so, when Mrs Grace says down,  the one on the top has to go down and when she sa's hammer the other person has to bang the hand in the front.

Next Mrs Grace said Lilo is coming and when he came, I asked "could you beat boxing?" and when I said that, he did and It was kind of a sad one so it almost made me cry. He used to be a magician. That is a magic thing that he used to dissappear things into the other room and he said he allso played for MMA and that was cool.  It was like kind of boxing game that people could do vs other people.

Later we did around the world so one person has to stand up and the other person has to vs them so when Mrs Grace says an answer they have to say it and when the first person says it then they win then they keep on going until the end.

I felt excited because our first new student was here and I learned about him beat boxing and him MMA and him magicing and it was cool and he said he is Samon he has 3 sisters and 1 brother and 2 little sisters and we had fun with him.

L.I We learnt about Role Modlel and our new student .

Reading | Visualising

Visualising is drawing an image map, mindmap, or infographic about text that is difficult to understand.

To visualise a difficult sentence, break it up into parts and then draw each part.

If there are any word that are unkown they should be looked up in the dictionary. Children dictionaries are best suited for learners. Visualising is a good way to easily understand difficult texts.

L.I - To learn how to  visualise

Writing| Complex Sentence

For this activity I made a DLO about my complex sentence. How to make a complex sentence is to use to simple sentences and add a AAWWUUBBIS in the middle. If you change it the other way that still sounds correct. To find more informtion to make a complex sentence look at the slideshow.

Inquiry | First Waka | Aotearoa Research

Original, there was no people in New Zealand (Aotearoa) The first person who arrived to New Zealand came in a settled waka.

The ten names for the waka were: Kurahaupō, Tākitimu, Mataatua, Tainui, Te Arawa, Aotea, Tokomaru, Horouta, Uruao, Ārai-te-uru. These waka's were all traditional to the Maori and Poleynesians.

All of these waka were strong in different areas. For example: Mataatua was identified as one of the greatest traditional boats used to migrate towards New Zealand.

The objective of this activity was to build an understanding of where the first ten wakas journeyed to.

Rippa Rugby

L.I. To learn the basics of Rippa Rugby.

For Rippa Rugby we came back to our same Rippa Rugby teachers. For our drill we had to race eachother. To play we had two teams. Team Green and Team Red. Then the first person had to run the ball to the cone and pass the ball to eachother and they have to pass the ball back. Then you have to run to the cones and criss cross them and run around the flag pole and run to the next person and do the same thing.

Then we got to play Rippa Rugby. We got to put on a belt and put on the tags. When I played Rippa Rugby for my third time and I got a tie. How to play is to rip the tag off the person that has the ball. So don't let someone rip your tag off try and dodge them.

I love playing Rippa Rugby even if I got tired of running a lot.

Listening

KiwiCan was about listening.

We played 'bop the cone' to practise listening to instructions.

We also played 'Chinese whispers' to practise listening and hearing information.

I thought 'Chineses whispers' was a good way to practise listening skills.

Commenting

Today I commented on Naki's blog about his Fact find. How to make a good comment is to greet them nicely and say if you did same thing as you. Then you ask a question about something. I really love commenting on other people blogs.

Keyword

L.I to identify keywords to search for information about Marco Polo.

Keywords are words that help to research  specific information about a chosen topic. they can also give appropriate information to young learners.

Keywords can be used to find information that is understandable and readable by children.

Keywords are for narrowing down the information gained by an internet search.

Keywords are useful tools that should be used in every search.

Rippa Rugby

L.I. To learn the basics of Rippa Rugby.

For Rippa Rugby we went in two teams call Team T rex's and Team Lions. For our activity we played choose the number. To play you have to pick a number like for example the're's four people in each team and I tell each team a number that is how many people have to run. Then someone throw to ball to the team and they have to get a try and they get a point.

For the next activity we switched teams and for the activity we play bullrush. To play you have to pick a person  and that person had to run and if that person tag get's ripped off ther're in with the tagger. Who ever is the last one standing wins.

Then we got to play Rippa Rugby. We got to put on a belt and put on the tags. When I played Rippa Rugby for my first time I got a try but we lost the game. But we tried our best. How to play is to rip the tag off the person that has the ball. So don't let someone rip your tag off try and dodge them.

I love playing Rippa Rugby even if I got tired of running a lot.

KiwiCan

L.I. To be a good Leadership.

Today in Kiwican we learnt about Leadership. For our activity was the adding game where you have to get a partner and you both have to hide your hands behind you a made up a number and you both show your number and add them all together and the person that say it the fastest wins. Then there's a final between six people battling eachother and keep on going until it is a one on one and the last one standing wins.

For the next activity we learnt about Leadership and it mean to communication nicely to others. For our activity we played bop it. To play is if someone says bop it you have to put your hands on your head and bop down. Twist it is just to twist. The next one were, dab, wow, floss, kick , wip and spin. It was hard find out the order of it.

For our next activity is called end of the road. To play is to answer question faster them the other person and you can on to the next person and keep on going until the last person. At the last person Koura Beau finshed off half of the other group and won for Ms Grace and I was in that group.

Then the final one was the street fight where someone say the 1,2,3,4,5. 1 is the punch once and 2 is punching two time, 3 is to kick, 4 is to spin uper-cut and the last one is hadouken and it was G vs S and Mahdi finished them all and tried to beat the others in my group but he lost from the last person that was Lance.

In KiwiCan it was fun learning about Leadership and play games that was fun.
